The question I get asked most from my clients is “What should we wear?”
I put together some ideas to inspire you! Please contact me before your shoot if you have any further questions.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Most importantly, Show Your Style! Please, stay away from any clothing with written logos.
Bold is best…hats, heels, scarves and trendy clothing are a must. Layering is huge. Clothing with bold colors and textures are great. Example, for a girl, a fun top with a cute jacket, scarf and a pair of jeans or a cute skirt, and maybe a hat. For a boy, a t-shirt under a blazer and a pair of jeans.
Have a couple of your favorite outfits, something in which you feel comfortable. For families, I like the outfits to coordinate but not matchy matchy. I love color. For kids, something bright and happy – don’t be afraid to layer. If there is more than one child, outfits can be similar, but please so not have them matching.
I love it when clients get creative! You are also free to bring any unique items that are special to you or your family. For instance, a child’s teddy bear or maybe she plays the guitar or he loves his drum sticks. Perhaps a special hat or a special family vintage heirloom. Let’s have some fun.
No cartoon characters on t-shirts. No Whinnie the Pooh, Elmo, Dora, etc. Please know that you are not limited to just solid colors. No athletic tennis shoes! For Boys try converse, vans or something fun. For Girls, how about a vintage sundress with cowboy boots. We want these photos to be timeless and cherished for all the years of your life.
Make sure everyone is well rested, and well fed. Relax and enjoy! Children can sense stressful energy and often react to it. Be sure to bring snacks, a drink, outfit change and even wet wipes!

If you are scheduled for a family shoot, something like this might inspire you. Remember, you do not have to be matchy matchy, however the look and feel of your attire should compliment one another.
